“Theologians may quarrel but the mystics of the world speak the same language.”

—Meister Eckhart

For several decades, a movement called Spiritual Direction has been emerging in the U.S. This process has existed for many centuries in both Eastern and Western religious traditions and now is available to all those in contemporary spiritual life in and beyond cloistered walls.

Spiritual direction is an unhurried process of moving in consciousness into greater
awareness of ourselves/others, the outer world, and the God of our understanding
with the assistance of a spiritual director, companion, guide, friend.
It is the slow work of God. ~ Margaret Guenther

A spiritual companion is a sacred witness to your evolution in consciousness who …

Offers a welcoming space, a safe relationship, and attunement to a seeker’s healing needs

Listens deeply to sacred stories, inquires gently, and discerns slowly

Supports a seeker’s courage, acceptance, and equanimity to see into the
nature of any circumstance with compassion
rather than judgment

Explores dreams as a spiritual pathway to understand oneself

Promotes self-awareness of living and being in the mystical observing mind,
rather than the unruly, egoic thinking brain

Thomas Merton (1915-1968), American Trappist monk, writer, theologian, mystic, poet, social activist, and scholar of comparative religion, describes his spiritual awakening. . .

“I was suddenly overwhelmed with the realization that I loved all those people, that they were mine and I theirs, that we could not be alien to one another even though we were total strangers.
It was like waking up from a dream of separateness.”

Spiritual direction has the potential to unite heaven and earth in a non-dual consciousness within you. If you wish to learn how spiritual direction can support you to experience a happier and more peaceful life, contact information is below. Namaste.
